What’s the format?

A hardback book, old-school newspaper, custom zine – we can help you land on the best fit for your project, and handle all the editorial, design and production administration and liaison to make it happen.

Why do I need it?

  • To create a tangible marketing tool that is more beautiful than a brochure and has more to say than a sticker.

  • To counter content fatigue with creative storytelling to engage your clients and find new audiences.

  • To gift or sell a collectable monograph to mark a major event or milestone.

  • .. and because print is back (or never left).

Who is it for?

Businesses or organisations who want to make something special, including galleries, museums, wineries, restaurants, corporate, community, not-for-profit and government bodies.

Why us?

We (Margot Lloyd and Emily Hart) have over two decades of combined experience in publishing and marketing. Emily has worked on books with high profile authors such as Malcolm Turnbull, Erin Phillips and Cam Walker, while Margot has focused on literary work, with editing credits on books listed for most of the major literary awards in Australia. Between the two of us we have worked on custom publications with brands such as Philadelphia Cream Cheese, Haigh’s, ABC, the Country Women’s Association, Adelaide Central Market and the National Motor Museum, helping them shape stories from raw ideas to polished prose. Emily also worked at brand voice agency XXVI with clients such as NAB, Telstra and Qantas.

Frequently asked questions

  • Both vary greatly across formats. Newspapers can cost as little as $2000 + GST and take a few weeks, while books usually start at $10,000 + GST and take a year or more. It also depends on editing and design needs. Fill in an enquiry form to get more information tailored to your project.

  • We typically work on projects of 500+ copies.

  • We typically focus on the editing, design and production, with you supplying initial content. But we can also help to match you with a writer or researcher, or we can run a writing workshop with your team.

  • Our black-and-white internal books are all printed in Australia, but we do look to offshore printers for competitive quotes on full-colour and high-finish books, especially at larger quantities.

  • For the most part, we do not distribute and promote custom projects into the trade, but we can work with you to help get your publications where they need to go.

  • We are not a hybrid or self-publishing company. The books we distribute into the trade are traditionally published, and most come to us via our submissions.

If you’d like to work on your team’s storytelling skills, we also run workshops in brand voice and copyediting, writing and editing in the age of AI, and technical writing and editing.
